Stomp The Yard

Stomp the yard is a very interesting and entertaining movie. Starring Columbus Short, Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Meagan Good, Darrin Dewitt Henson and Brian. J. White. Stomp the yard takes place in Truth University and also L.A. Duron( Chris brown) and his brother DJ ( Columbus short) are krump dancers in L.A (Krump is a style of dance). They dance in a team called " Goon Squad". They win and the losing team lost all their money and started to fight with DJ and Duron gets shot by the other teams leader. DJ gets mistakened for the shooter and gets arrested. He is then sent to go stay with his Uncle Nate and Aunt Jackie in Atlanta,Georgia. He then is supposed to attend Truth University where the psychical plant director plans to teach DJ responsibility and makes DJ work as part of the program. He later spots a girl April Palmer (Meagan Good) and is attracted to her. After he meets his room-mate Rich Brown(Ne-Yo). Later that day DJ is shown to a stepping showdown between the " theta nu thetas" and the " Mu gamma xi". He spots April and cuts through the showdown to go speak to her but then, starts a fight . During the fight he discover the Mu gammas xi best stepper Grant ( who nearly wanted to kill DJ) was Aprils boyfriend. That night Rich Brown takes DJ to the club and DJ starts to dance. The two stepping clubs notice how well he dances and offer him a spot on the team. He turns down both offers. April is a tutor and DJ signs up so he can talk to her. They start a new friendship, she shows him the Hall of fame for the steppers and then DJ finally understands. Rich and DJ go and pledge themselves to the "theta nu thetas". This starts the Mu gamma xi's. Eventually April leaves Grant (Darrin Dewitt Henson) for DJ. That angers April's father Dr.Palmer ( Allan Louis) who is the schools director. It also brings back memories because DJ's aunt used to be his girlfriend but DJ's uncle captures her heart and Dr.Palmer thinks things would have been better if she married him instead of Uncle Nate. DJ shows some of his crewmates some modern moves. Sly (Brian.j.white) who is also Sylvester doesn't like this and challenges him to a dance off. DJ loses but Sly says ok to learn some moves as a reward for trying. When DJ is practicing some old steps the mu gammas are secretly taping every step. Some of the mu gammas do a background check on DJ and discover the murder of his brother. They tell the director and Dr.Palmer bans DJ from all activities fro the rest of the year. DJ gets an offer from Dr.Palmer that he can stay but he cant talk to April. He refuses. April finds out everything and makes her dad change his mind. He does and DJ is just in time to do the final show with the mu gammas. Grant does every move that DJ was gonna do. DJ is surprised but does every move that Grant did and then put in something special. The thetas win and their photo is taken and put up on the wall of fame.
